Bajaj Auto Limited will unveil new Pulsars at the Auto Expo next month. Shyam Sundar Narayan, the company's marketing manager, spoke to the Business Line newspaper confirming the unveiling of new Pulsar models at the show.
Without divulging details, another Bajaj official told the newspaper that the company will showcase two to three new motorcycles at the show, and that at least one among those will be launched in the country this year. The two of these motorcycles could be the Pulsar 200SS (Super Sport) and the Pulsar 375.
The 200SS would be based on the 200NS's platform, while motivation would come from a 199.5 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, fuel-injected engine. We anticipate the 200SS to produce power and torque in the region of 23 bhp and 18 Nm, while the gearbox would be a 6-speed unit.
The Pulsar 375 on the other hand would sport the KTM Duke 390's engine. The engine in question is a 373cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine which produces 43 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque on the Duke 390. Again, a 6-speed gearbox will perform the transmission duties.
The question remains though, will the Pulsar 375 accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 7 seconds and achieve a top-speed of 170 km/h like the Duke 390?
