Malaysia - India-bound Mini 5-door launched at INR 43.94 lakhs

It will be launched in India this month.

The Mini 5-door which made its public premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show last month has been launched in Malaysia at RM 238,888 (around INR 43.94 lakhs).

The 5-door hot hatchback is available in the country only in the Cooper S trim. The car measures 4,005 mm long, 1,727 mm wide and 1,425 mm tall and has a 2,567 mm wheelbase. Compared to its 3-door sibling, the Mini 5-door is 161 mm longer and 11 mm taller while the wheelbase is extended by 72 mm.

The Malaysia-spec model is available with standard LED headlamps, foglamps, daytime running lights and taillights, rear Park Distance Control, run-flat tyres, automatic headlamps and wipers, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the practical Mini hatchback adopts a full black finish with leather upholstery and red contrast stitching.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol motor which produces 192 PS (189.29 bhp) and 280 Nm. A 6-speed transmission with paddle shifters sends power to the front wheels. 0-100 km/h comes in 6.8 seconds and the top speed stands at 230 km/h.

BMW India has announced that the new Mini 3- and 5-door variants will be launched in the country on November 19.
