The MG Hector was showcased last month and its pre-bookings and test drives commenced earlier this month. In a new development, it has been revealed that its launch will take place on 27 June.
Scaling up its Indian operations, MG inaugurated its flagship store in Gurugarm recently, and the company also plans to double up its current dealership count of 120 to 250 in the next three months. The MG Hector will be a fairly unique product for its segment which will boast 50+ connected vehicle features and be the first internet SUV of its segment. The C-SUV will comprise 19 exclusive features, including 10.4-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, front parking sensors, 360-degree camera view, 8-colour ambient lighting, 4-way power adjustable co-driver seat and Infinity premium sound system.
Engine options will include a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The petrol engine produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque, and it will be available with mild-hybrid technology that gives a torque boost of 20 Nm and increases the fuel economy by 12%. The diesel engine develops 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic will be the transmission choices. The fuel economy rating will be 14.16 km/l (petrol-MT)/15.81 km/l (petrol-electric-MT)/13.96 km/l (petrol-AT)/17.41 km/l (diesel-MT).

The MG Hector is likely to retail in the price range of INR 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom). The eZS electric SUV has been officially confirmed to be the company's second product for the Indian market. Its local testing has commenced.
