10,000th unit of MG Hector rolls out of the Halol plant

The MG Hector that was launched on 27 June 2019 is in a strong demand and its production is going to be ramped up soon. Recently, the 10,000th unit was rolled out. This suggests that it took MG 3 months to produce the first 5,000 units of the Hector, but the next 5,000 units were manufactured in half that time.

MG had to once halt the bookings for a while because of the unanticipated demand but it's working on a fix now. It will start an additional shift to boost the production of the Hector at the Halol plant by next month to cope reduce the waiting time. At the current production level, customers booking now may have to wait until early 2020 for getting their Hector delivered.

The MG Hector had garnered over 40,000 bookings by the second week of October, and out of these units, more than 6,000 have been delivered. MG Sold 1,508 units of Hector in just one month of launch.  It should be noted that the MG Hector has managed to record strong sales figures despite of the industry slowdown and at the same time, the new-comer Kia Seltos also shares a similar success story.

In other updates, MG is now gearing up to launch the electric ZS SUV at the end of the year. The electric SUV will likely be priced above INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be a direct rival of the Hyundai Kona Electric.
