The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will debut next month at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, but the SUV was spotted prior to that in Europe recently.

Based on the same platform as the Mercedes M Class (which is now renamed the Mercedes GLE), the GLE Coupe's design is carried over from the Concept Coupe SUV that was shown at the Beijing show this year.
The GLE Coupe is the first Mercedes model to feature an AMG-Sport variant. The GLE Coupe 450 AMG, which is the range topping variant announced is powered by a V6 bi-turbo petrol engine developing 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque. It uses a 9-speed automatic transmission to send power to all wheels.
Other variants announced include a 258 hp diesel and a 333 hp petrol. All variants benefit from Mercedes's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
