Mercedes India has launched the Mercedes GLC luxury SUV for sale today. Prices for the GLC 220 d and GLC 300 petrol start from INR 50.7 Lakhs and INR 50.9 Lakhs respectively (ex-showroom, Pune).
Following the trend of latest Mercs, the Mercedes GLC will be initially launched as a limited run of CBU units dubbed as GLC Edition 1. These models will be fitted with most of the optional as well as standard equipment in the features list.
Some of the equipment include Multibeam LED headlamps, silk beige/espresso brown ARTICO leather upholstery, COMAND infotainment system, wooden insert on the dashboard and door panels, ambient lighting, Active Parking Assist and a panoramic sunroof.

Right from launch, there are petrol and diesel variants of the GLC. The diesel variant packs a 2,143cc, turbocharged four cylinder engine that produces 170 PS and 400 Nm of torque, while the petrol variant has a 1,991cc, turbocharged motor that outputs 245 PS and 370 Nm of torque. Both models are paired to a new 9G TRONIC automatic gearbox as well as a 4MATIC AWD system.
The arrival of the Mercedes GLC in India will help bridge the gap between the Mercedes GLA and Mercedes GLE, and will enter the competitive luxury SUV segment that comprises of rivals such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
