An import document has revealed that Mercedes Benz India has imported the Mercedes GLC into the country for homologation purposes, indicating a nearing launch date.
The model imported is the Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC variant, which is powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 241 hp and 370 Nm. It is paired to a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and is equipped with a 4MATIC AWD system.
Mercedes will also introduce the diesel variants, which include an entry level GLC 220d that delivers 170 hp and 400 Nm of torque, a GLC 250d with 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The GLC is 4,656 mm long, 1,644 mm high, 2,096 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,874 mm. It has a boot capacity of 550 liters and 1,600 liters (with rear seats folded). The models sold in Europe are equipped Mercedes’s COMAND infotainment software running on a free-standing display, a Touchpad for navigating through menu, gloss wood trim for the center console housing the buttons and three silver HVAC vents, a choice of two 3-spoke steering designs, and ARTICO leather upholstery.
