Its the first performance crossover in India.
The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG is gearing up to launch in India later today, thus adding to the recently launched premium crossover SUV's lineup.
The GLA 45 AMG is the first performance crossover in the country as rivals like the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 have no go-faster variants on sale here.
The same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged motor which powers the CLA 45 AMG does the propulsion duty on the GLA 45 AMG. The engine puts out 360 PS (359.4 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 2,250 – 5,000 rpm and is mated to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission.
The Mercedes 4MATIC all-wheel drive system distributes power to all the wheels, enabling the performance crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h is a scant 4.8 seconds. The top-speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. A sports suspension system supports the added capability.
Visually, the GLA 45 AMG can be identified by means of sportier front and rear bumpers, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, and quad-exhausts. Inside, sports seats and a black color theme with red contrast stitching are the talking points.
The launch of the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG could prompt Audi to counteract by introducing the RS Q3 in India.
