The Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG has just had its world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show today. While the exteriors of the crossover have been tweaked to make it look more aggressive, its what underneath the hood we're interested in, as this version of the GLA produces 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
Key to that performance comes from the world's most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged motor is also seen under the hoods of the A 45 and CLA 45. The GLA 45 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a mere 4.8 seconds and hit a top-speed of 250 km/h.
The drive is sent to all four wheels via an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. Features such as a three-stage ESP (Electronic Stability Program) control, a speed-sensitive sports steering, a high-performance braking system and an AMG-tuned sports suspension are also seen on the GLA 45.
