Like the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG, the GLA 45 AMG harnesses power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. In spite of being the smallest AMG motor, this is the world's most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine producing 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

The GLA 45 sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The gearbox used here is the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.

Thanks to these credentials, 0-100 km/h comes up in 4.8 seconds while the top-speed is electronically controlled to 250 km/h.

Like other high-end AMG models, the engine of the GLA 45 is assembled by hand. Mercedes is proud to boast about their 'One man, One engine' philosophy, wherein only one engineer works on an engine from start to finish.

Other features in the GLA 45 include an AMG sports suspension, a high-performance braking system, three-stage ESP control and an AMG speed-sensitive sports steering.
