Based on the CLA sedan, has similar exterior dimensions.
Mercedes Benz has showcased the CLA Shooting Brake at the ongoing Salon de I'Auto in Brussels. The car is based on the MFA platform which underpins the CLA sedan, GLA compact crossover, A Class hatchback, and the B Class.
It was unveiled in November last year while it just made its public appearance at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show (2015 NAIAS). In Brussels, it has made its European motor show debut, in the CLA 180 guise.
In terms of external dimensions, the CLA Shooting Brake is similar to the sedan version: it measures 4,630 mm in length, 1,777 mm in width, and 1,435 mm in height, which is 3 mm taller than the CLA sedan.
The estate body style gives the CLA a larger luggage compartment that can hold up to 495 litres of luggage (25 liters up on the CLA sedan). Fold down the rear seat and the number rises to 1,354 litres.
In terms of engines, there are the regular four-cylinder petrol and diesel options as found on the CLA sedan, the AMG version gets the 360 hp, 449 Nm producing turbocharged 2-litre AMG engine. Based on a front-wheel drive platform, the vehicle can also be specced with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system (available as standard on the CLA45 AMG).
