Despite the world premiere of the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG, the gorgeous Concept S-Class Coupe was a highlight of the Mercedes-Benz stall at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show.
The Concept S-Class Coupe is based on the W222 platform that underpins the current generation S-Class. The S-Class Coupe will, in the future, replace the Mercedes CL, which is based on the previous generation S-Class. The Concept S-Class Coupe was first revealed to the world at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The S-Class Coupe is powered by a 4.7-liter biturbo V8 that develops 455 hp and has a peak torque of 700 Nm. It measures 5,050 mm in length, 1,958 mm in width, 1,409 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,495 mm.
The Concept Coupe is packed with features like Road Surface Scan, Magic Body Control, radar and ultrasound systems that combine with 6D vision cameras to constantly monitor the car's surroundings, to name a few.
