The AMG GT is the second Mercedes model to be developed entirely by AMG, the first being its predecessor. Though it misses out on the dramatic gullwing doors, a long bonnet and a stubby rear-end clearly make for an unmistakable lineage. The headlamp design takes cues from the new S and C Class while the rear fascia is closely related to sleek S Class Coupe.

The low and wide dashboard accommodates four circular central AC vents. The centre console has a number of dials arranged in a 'V' shape. The pop-out COMAND display, a silver accented flat-bottom steering wheel and sports seats round up the interior design.

The AMG GT is powered by a 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 petrol motor which is available in two tunes - 462 PS (455.4 bhp) and 600 Nm of torque in the GT and 510 PS (502.8 bhp) and 650 Nm of torque in the GT S. Both variants employ an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.
