Maruti Vitara Brezza to get more safety features as standard, updated styling - Report

The Vitara Brezza is about to get an update. It will get certain safety features as standard, says a report from GaadiWaadi. The 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza will feature ABS with EBD and dual airbags across the range.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is available in LDI, LDI (O), VDI, VDI (O), ZDI and ZDI+ grades. While a driver’s airbag is standard, the LDI and VDI grades lack a passenger side front airbag and ABS with EBD. According to the report, Maruti Suzuki will discontinue the LDI (O) and VDI (O) grades and start offering ABS with EBD and a co-driver airbag in the LDI and VDI grades. The LDi grade will gain reverse parking sensors as well.

Along with enhanced safety, the new Maruti Vitara Brezza will have updated styling as well. It will feature chrome upper grille and chrome tailgate garnish as standard. Its ZDi and ZDi+ grades will feature black alloy wheels instead of grey alloy wheels, as seen in the spy shots here. Also, a shade of orange will replace the Cerulean Blue exterior colour. The new model will continue with an all-black interior treatment.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by the 1.3 L DDiS diesel engine that produces 66 kW (90 PS) and 200 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard and the fuel economy is rated at 24.3 km/l. A major addition to the lineup will be that of AMT equipped variants. Prices of the current model start at INR 7,82,002 (ex-showroom Delhi). Prices of its LDi, VDi and ZDi grades are set to go up by INR 12,500, INR 8,500 and INR 5,500 respectively with the yearly update.
