A leaked document procured by IAB has revealed MSIL's plans to introduce Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT soon. The homologation sheet lists three grades of the AMT variants of the Brezza along with the rest of the trim options.
As per the leaked documentation, Maruti will offer the Vitara Brezza AMT in three grades - VDi, ZDi, and ZDi+. The gearbox, likely to be 5-speed AMT unit, is paired with the 1.3 L DDiS 200 diesel engine producing 66 kW @ 4,000 rpm. The document also specifies the dimensions, which are identical to the model currently on sale.
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the MY2018 Vitara Brezza. The compact SUV will get minor updates in the form of a standard chrome upper grille and chrome tailgate garnish as standard, black alloy wheels on the ZDi and ZDi+ grades. Also, a shade of orange (pictured) will be added to the exterior colour options.
The document also reveals that the LDI (O) and VDI (O) grades will be discontinued. The company will start offering ABS with EBD and a co-driver airbag in the LDI and VDI grades. The LDi grade will gain reverse parking sensors as well.
Although the Maruti Vitara Brezza has been the highest selling vehicle in its segment since its launch, the arrival of the Tata Nexon AMT and the rise in demand for automatics seem to have led to Maruti rolling out the AMT variants of its popular compact SUV. Expect the Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT to go on sale in the coming weeks commanding an estimated price premium of around INR 50,000 over manual variants.
