Maruti Suzuki has launched a commercial variant of the second-gen Ertiga. The company has named it ‘Tour M’ and will announce its launch next month.
The Maruti Tour M is quite well-equipped for a taxi. On the outside, it features halogen projector headlamps, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, chrome front grille, full wheel caps and LED tail lights. Inside, it has 60:40 split, sliding and reclining second-row seats, 50:50 split, reclining third-row seats, second-row armrest and MID with coloured TFT.
Key safety features of the Maruti Tour M include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, driver and co-driver SBR, rear parking sensors, speed sensitive auto door lock and speed limiter (80 km/h).
The Maruti Tour M is based on the Vxi grade of the second generation Maruti Ertiga. It is powered by the K15B 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine that produces 77 kW (104.7 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. This engine is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission.
While the Maruti Ertiga’s K15B engine features the Progressive Smart Hybrid dual-battery mild-hybrid system, the Maruti Tour M’s K15B engine doesn’t feature a mild-hybrid system. So, while the former delivers a fuel economy of 19.34 km/l (MT), the latter returns 18.18 km/l. That’s a difference of 1.16 km/l.
Announcing the Maruti Tour M, Maruti Suzuki said: “Packed with features such as projector headlamps, 2nd row adjustable AC, dual airbags and much more, Tour M is set to redefine expectations of owner-drivers, fleet operators as well as their customers.”
