Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the XL6 in India on 21 August 2019. The premium MPV is based on the Ertiga and shares several details with the same which have been revealed previously. In a new development, its dimensions have leaked online.
As expected, the Maruti XL6 will be larger in terms of most exterior dimensions compared to the Maruti Ertiga, except the wheelbase. It will be longer than the Ertiga by 50 mm (4,445 mm), wider by 40 mm (1,775mm) and 10 mm taller (1,700 mm), Don't expect the bigger exterior dimensions to translate into greater cabin space, though. Like the wheelbase (2,740 mm), the turning radius will be the same (5.2 metres).
As per previous reports, the Ertiga will be made available in two grades, namely Alpha (higher) and Zeta (lower). Features like SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, individual captain seats for the second row, full LED headlamps with DRLs and all-black interior theme will be available as standard. The higher trim Alpha will have additional features like a reverse camera, leather seats and cruise control, dual-tone exterior colour scheme and black alloy wheels.
In terms of mechanicals, the XL6 will be powered by the BS-VI K15 SMART HYBRID petrol engine which delivers 77 kW (104.69 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. This engine will come mated to a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
