30,000 inquiries received.
In an interview with ETAuto, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and chief executive of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) said that the company has received in excess of 30,000 inquiries and more than 6,000 bookings for the Maruti S-Cross. Ayukawa said that this was the response recorded before the price was announced.

Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Cross crossover on August 5 at INR 8.34 to INR 13.74 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The car will be sold exclusively through the recently launched premium Nexa outlets. The S-Cross is Maruti’s answer to the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, and comes in 7 variants, with 1.3-liter and 1.6-liter DDiS diesel engines.
The S-Cross is Maruti Suzuki’s second product to be sold through Nexa, after the Ciaz. At present, there are 35 operational Nexa showrooms in the country, and this number will rise to 100 by the year-end. Nexa is part of the company’s strategy to achieve annual sales of two million units by the year 2020. Ayukawa expects the company to sell about 2 lakh units of premium cars in the next few years through the premium outlet.
