According to India Today, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Indian counterpart of the 2016 Suzuki Ignis - the Maruti Ignis - at the 2016 Auto Expo to be held in Noida in the first week of February.
Making its world premiere at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, the Maruti Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm wide and 1,595 mm high, thus slotting it in a segment that comprises of sub-4m SUVs like the Mahindra S101 and Renault Kwid.
Suzuki boasts that the new Ignis will offer “versatility for daily life and leisure”, with a high view point and sufficient ground clearance that enables it to go on snowy roads and rough track. The design was previewed by the Suzuki iM-4 concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The Ignis comes with a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine with the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology, paired to a CVT gearbox. While a front wheel drive layout is standard, 4WD (Suzuki ALLGRIP) may be optional or not included at all.
