Dealers state that there is a 3-6 week waiting period for petrol and diesel models.
NEXA dealerships across India are now accepting bookings for the Maruti Ignis for a minimum deposit of INR 11,000, ahead of its market launch on January 13. Bookings can also be made online via Maruti's NEXA Experience website.
As expected, several NEXA dealers are already quoting a waiting period of 3-6 weeks (depending on the variant) for the Ignis, which is only going to rise further once the prices are announced and it settles in the market. The Ignis is likely to be one of Maruti's best-sellers for this year, and could help further popularise Maruti's premium line NEXA dealerships.
The engine lineup will include a 1.2L K12B 4-cyl petrol engine producing 61 kW (83 PS) and 113 Nm of torque, and a 1.3L 4-cyl DDiS 190 diesel engine with 55.2 kW (75 PS) and 190 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual is standard, while a 5-speed AMT gearbox is available as an option in both variants.
Maruti has officially release the final spec sheet and feature list. Like the cars sold through NEXA, the Ignis will be available in four grades: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The 5-speed AMT option is only offered in Delta and Zeta grades of the Ignis, so buyers of the AMT model will miss out on Ignis Alpha's features such as LED projector headlamps and DRLs, puddle lamp, Smartplay touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, support for Suzuki remote app, automatic climate control and rear view camera.
