A CVT will be available on the petrol variant.
Ahead of its launch on October 26, Maruti Suzuki have started dispatching the Baleno to its NEXA dealerships, which will exclusively sell the premium hatchback. Similar to the S-Cross, buyers will have to visit NEXA outlets, or get in touch with a Maruti dealership who'll forward the purchase to a NEXA outlet. Prior to the launch, Maruti will have at least 80 NEXA outlets up and running.
The Baleno, to recap, will be offered with a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine. The petrol variant will come in five trims, including a CVT Delta variant, whereas the diesel will come in four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
All variants of the Baleno get dual front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard. From the Delta variant onwards, the Baleno offers automatic climate control, a Bluetooth-enabled music system, electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors, rear parking sensors and a rear wiper/washer.
The petrol variant of the Baleno is good for 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency rating of 21.4 km/l. The diesel Baleno develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque, and returns 27.39 km/l.
Bookings for the Baleno are open at NEXA outlets for INR 25,000.
