Features export-spec alloy wheels.
Team-BHP has posted spyshots of a Baleno being tested in Cochin, and claims that the model in the spyshots is the export version of the Maruti Baleno, the Suzuki Baleno, and is powered by Suzuki's new 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine. The forum suggests that that this version will be launched in India around mid-2016.
The Black-colored Baleno in spyshots, a colour that is not offered on the hatchback in India, is reported to have been testing along with a VW Polo GT TSI. The former was using a five-speed manual transmission while the latter is available only with a seven-speed DSG (automatic).
The test mule is said to have additional safety features that are destined on the export variant, including side airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and a radar-based Emergency Braking System. The car seems to have alloy wheels of a different design (Euro-spec model).
The 1.0-litre three-cylinder BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine on the Baleno is capable of producing 110 hp of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque; while the 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine offered in India generates 83 bhp and 115 Nm.
