Mahindra XUV300 to launch in Namibia in mid-June

The Mahindra XUV300 was launched in February 2018 and garnered over 13,000 orders in one month of its launch. India's latest compact SUV a global model that will be exported to many markets, including that of Europe, South America, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand. In a related development, it has emerged that the new model will launch in Namibia in mid-June.

Mahindra will develop the LHD variant of the XUV300 to expand its reach. As per the agreement with Ssangyong, the car can be exported to all countries but South Korea and China.

The Mahindra XUV300 is available in four trims - W4, W6, and W8, and W8(O). The manufacturer claims that the XUV300 features a 'Cheetah-inspired' design, a theme that debuted on the Mahindra XUV500. The compact SUV is underpinned by the Ssangyong Tivoli's critically acclaimed X100 platform.

The Mahindra XUV300 is available with two engine options - 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The former is a three-pot unit that produces a maximum power of 81 kW (110 bhp) at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 2,000-3,500 rpm. The oil-burner offers 85.8 kW (115 bhp) at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm at 1,500-2,500 rpm. Both the motors come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The top-of-the-line Mahindra XUV300 offers a host of segment-leading features, including dual-zone climate control, heated ORVMs, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), an electric sunroof, engine start-stop, and auto-dimming IRVM. All the trims feature a host of standard safety features in the form of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat anchorage mounts, disc brakes for all four wheels, and rear parking sensors.

The Mahindra XUV300 comes with various segment-leading features and comprehensive standard safety kit, thereby making it the most well-equipped model in the sub-4-metre SUV segment.

Esther Leoni, Sales Manager, Mahindra Namibia has said that the vehicle will cost less than N$ 300,000 (INR 14,26,363). Speaking on the new vehicle, Leoni said -

We are very excited about this product range, as it ticks all the boxes and is in a fantastic price bracket. The XUV300 is a beautiful vehicle that will be awe inspiring for Namibian (market).
