Pre-production model showcased at the Auto Expo this year.
The Mahindra Verito might have not been as successful a market player as the brand's SUVs, but Mahindra is not backing off. The electric version of the Verito sedan is scheduled to launch next year, says a report.
In mid-2015, the electric version of the Verito sedan will be launched in India. It will be positioned in the commercial car-rental segment, M&M's Executive Director, Mr Pawan Goenka said at a press conference. The company expects to sell around 100 cars a month here, and as before, it plans to export the vehicle to other markets like Europe as well.
A pre-production model was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. While the drivetrain is different, the interior, exterior, and dimensions are identical to the normal Verito.

The maximum range it offers is 80 km, while it can do speeds up to 85 km/h. To fully charge the EV, it will take seven hours, while a fast charge (that takes an hour) can also be done. The final power and torque figures are yet to be released.
