Originally launched in 2010, the Mahindra Thar will soon be taken off the showrooms as it can't meet the stricter crash test rules under BNVSAP which will be seen in effect from 1 October this year. To give the SUV a proper send-off, the company will soon be launching a limited-run Thar Signature Edition model, details of which have also been leaked in the past.
New leaked images of the Mahindra Thar Signature Edition have surfaced online revealing more details about the limited-edition model. The SUV features an Aqua Marine paint scheme, while its front grille comes finished in Napoli Black colour. A new 'Signature Badge' can be seen on the RH of vehicle, behind the front fender. This badge also carries Anand Mahindra's signature. The front bumper comes finished in D-sat silver colour, and the SUV also gets new decals on LH and RH body along with the bonnet. Other exterior updates also include new 5-spoke alloy wheels which were earlier seen on the previous-gen Mahindra Scorpio and the Marksman.
On the inside, the limited-run SUV will have front-facing rear seats and leatherette seat covers with Thar branding. The cabin will also be wider and more spacious compared to the regular Thar models. Also, if you remember, IAB told you first that the Mahindra Thar Signature Edition will come with dual-front airbags. Apart from that, it will include ABS in its safety package.
