Rides on 37-inch Maxxis Trepador tires.
Mahindra had showcased a heavily customised Thar 'Daybreak Edition' at the Auto Expo 2016, which was thought to be a one-off example for the biennial show. However, CarandBike reports that M&M is offering Thar owners the Daybreak Edition customization kit at INR 9.6 Lakhs (excluding the donor Thar).
The customization will be done entirely by the inhouse 'Mahindra Customisation' division, and takes two months to complete the build. It features a matte grey exterior, factory-fitted winch attached to a set of Stinger Bumpers, offering more protection to the car’s radiators, LED-powered rings inside the headlamps, LED taillamps, and an air scoop on the bonnet. While the model showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 had no roof, Mahindra can fix a solid roof for another INR 1.5 Lakhs.
The highlight of the Thar Daybreak Edition is the massive set of 37-inch Maxxis Trepador tires, which significantly increases the ground clearance and rock crawling capability. The rear-end feature dual exhausts finished in chrome.

No upgrades are available for the engine. It will continue with the 2.5L CRDe motor that produces 105 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 247 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,000 rpm, matched to a 5-speed manual transmission, with high- and low-range ratios.
