M&M has showcased the upcoming Mahindra Rexton at the company's annual general body meeting held for its key stakeholders this week. The SUV's number plates display its internal codename, Y400. However, the grille is the Mahindra designed 6-slat chrome unit featuring the company logo, seen at the Auto Expo premiere.
Unlike the previous Rexton that sold in India with Ssangyong badges, the upcoming flagship will sport Mahindra badges all around and a new name. The fourth-generation Rexton is available internationally with 2.2-liter petrol and diesel engines. The former develops 181 PS and 420 Nm and gets either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic. The petrol unit is capable of 225 PS and 350 Nm outputs, and is offered with 6-speed manual and automatic 'boxes.
Mahindra's most expensive passenger vehicle will be loaded with features like HID headlamps with LED DRLs, electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, cognac brown leather upholstery, electric parking brake and nine airbags including the suite of ABS, EBD and traction control.
