Mahindra Reva updated their e2o at the Auto Expo today. The small electric car now gets a new smart port technology that enables transfer of energy to and from the vehicle.
The smart port supports existing technology on the car such as the Sun2Car (Solar Charging) system, Car2Home (a system which the company claims can power your house) system, apart from supporting the new Quick2Charge system.
The Quick2Charge system is basically a DC Fast Charging system. Using this, an e2o can be fully charged in under 60 minutes. A 15 minute charge will provide a range of 25 km. Using a normal 220 V 15 A socket, the e2o needs 5 hours to charge to its battery fully. The normal socket takes an hour to give the car a range of 20 km.
Other features on the e2o include a 6.2-inch touchscreen with GPS navigation, smartphone controlled locking and air-conditioning, and a Hill Hold function.
