Just a few days after the first spy video of Mahindra XUV300 AMT surfaced online, the SUV has been spotted amid its TVC shoot. The latest development suggests that the launch is imminent.

Currently, the Mahindra XUV300 is available with only a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Mahindra XUV300 equipped with an AMT will be recognised from an "autoSHIFT" badge right below the equipment line badge on the tailgate. The sample seen here is in the W8 grade, and according to the source publication, powered by the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 85.5 kW (115 BHP) at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. The automated manual transmission this engine is paired with is a 6-speed unit.

The 6-speed automated manual transmission in the Mahindra XUV300 will be available with even the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 81 kW (110 BHP) at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm. Currently, both the engines come linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. Reports say that the 6-speed automated manual transmission will only serve as a temporary solution until Mahindra launches the more expensive 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission along with the BS-VI upgrade next year.

On the outside, the Mahindra XUV300 comes with features like projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lights and dual-tone roof rails. Electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are some of the interior highlights. Main safety features include 7 airbags, four disc brakes, front parking sensors and ESP with Roll-over Mitigation.

The Mahindra XUV300's 6-speed AMT is said to be a stop-gap solution until a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission arrives in 2020.
