Mahindra Two Wheelers unveiled the Mojo in its production-ready avatar at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014. A senior management official from the company informed us that the Mojo would get very little changes from the version displayed here and that it would be launched in the next few months.
The Mojo was first displayed at the Auto Expo 2012 and has been spotted testing in various locations across the country. Now, however, the company says that the Mojo is fully tooled up and that it only needs a few performance tests to be conducted.
The Mojo is powered by a liquid cooled DOHC, four-stroke single cylinder 250 cc engine that develops 27 hp and a peak torque output of 25 Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The ECU on the Mojo controls both the fuel injection and a digital ignition with a closed loop system. The bike gets twin headlamps with daytime running lights.
When asked if some of the features that provided a shock value two years ago when the Mojo debuted still hold their evocation, the senior official said that some features have been added over the years, like the air deflection panels. The same official also conceded that the idea for the metal horizontal bars under the fuel tank came from the Centuro's designs.
