Six months after Mahindra bought a stake in two wheeler maker Kinetic Motors, it's intentions are coming out and plans appear to be big for the XYLO maker. Kinetic's existing scooters Nova and Flyte will be revamped and launched with a new Mahindra-Kinetic badge by the end of this month. Changes are expected to both the scooters, and they should be only cosmetic.
Earlier this week, the company arranged a plant visit to Pithampur for all dealers. M&M is serious about attacking the two-wheeler business with products both in the entry level mass market as well as in the lifestyle and performance segment. Rumors floating around suggest Mahindra is in talks with European brands to bring performance bikes into India, to poach for the market which boasts of Yamaha, Suzuki and Ducati.
The 125-cc Flyte and 135-cc Nova are currently priced at around Rs 41,000 ex-showroom Delhi.
“Mahindra has already begun production of these co-branded two wheelers at its Pithampur plant near Indore and will start dispatching them to dealers soon,” said a Kinetic dealer. The dealers in cities across India are eagerly expecting the revamped models. The supply of scooters have been stopped as of now.
