Overdrive reports that the Mahindra e-Verito electric vehicle will launch in India on June 2. The e-Verito has been a long time coming since they unveiled the full electric sedan way back at the Auto Expo 2012.
The e-Verito was again showcased to the Indian public at Auto Expo 2014 and Auto Expo 2016. Company officials had divulged to Overdrive that the model showcased was production-spec, and was expected to be launched in April 2016. It is the second full electric vehicle from the Mahindra Group, with first being the Mahindra e2o.
The Mahindra e-Verito is powered by a 72 V 3-phase AC induction motor that produces a maximum of 30.5 kW (41 hp) and maximum torque of 91 Nm. The sedan is capable of a company-claimed top speed of 86 (+/-2) kmph. When driven with a light foot, the e-Verito has a total range of 100 km on a full charge.
There will be three trims on offer, according to Overdrive: D2, D4 and D6. One of the key features in the D6 variant is fast charge mode, which replenishes the batteries in just 1.5 hours, while the lower variants will take around 8 hours for a full charge.
