We've received a notification from Mahindra 2wheelers for an announcement on the 24th of January.
Sources had earlier told us that a new product would be unveiled at this event, and the company could discuss its Auto Expo plans at the event.
Two products that Mahindra are seen testing on a daily basis and therefore are immediate launches are a scooter and the Mojo sportsbike. The former is reportedly codenamed 'G301' and is a Honda Activa challenger in the making. Reports say that this would be Mahindra's first 110 cc scooter, as existing offers Duro and Rodeo are competing in the 125 cc segment.
The Mojo sportsbike has been shown as a concept twice already, and designers have retouched certain parts of the production bike like the fuel tank to give it a more masculine feel, as learned from examining spyshots of test prototypes. The concept's engine was a 292 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke unit with 25.8 bhp and 25 Nm on tap. It was matched to a 6-speed gearbox, and the production bike's specs should stay close to that of the concept.
Both products were reported as Auto Expo 2014 prospects, but we're bound to learn more on Jan 24. Stick around to IndianAutosBlog.com for further news.
