The Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck Plus pickup now gets the m2DICR common rail diesel engine that powers the Bolero.
Along with the engine, the Bolero Maxi Truck Plus gets few other improvements that is set to up its ante in the growing Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) market. The pickup truck now gets new exterior color options and dual tone interiors. Mahindra says that the nose of the vehicle has been designed to enhance safety.
For starters, the vehicle's turning radius has been reduced to 5.5m and is also equipped with power steering (optional), aiding in maneuverability. The LCV now comes with a mobile charging point and engine immobilizer.
The 2.5-litre four cylinder turbocharged common rail diesel engine is the same unit that powers the Bolero passenger car. At 63 bhp, the output is also same as the passenger variant. While there is no increment in the power output compared to the previous engine, the refinement levels have been improved significantly. The engine is BS4 compliant and delivers a claimed mileage of 17.7 litre per kilometer.
The payload capacity stands at 1,150 kg and the the area of the cargo box is 3.7 square metre. The dimensions of the load bay are 2500mm X 1620mm X 458mm.
The front and rear suspension adopt the traditional leaf spring setup with the front assisted by an anti-roll bars. The LCV rides on 15" tires.
Mahindra has also ensured that the commercial operators need not worry about the maintenance. The transmission oil change and servicing interval has been increased to 10,000km while the engine oil change interval has been extended to 20,000km, thereby reducing the visits to the service station.
To top it up, the Bolero Maxi Truck Plus is offered with a first-in-class 1 year/unlimited km warranty dubbed as Assurance Plus.
The Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck Plus is priced at Rs. 4.33 lakhs (ex-showroom Thane) for the BS3 version while the BS4 version retails at Rs. 4.43 lakhs (ex-showroom Thane).
