Be it the edgy styling or its angry exhaust note, the Super Duke is an untamed brat with truck loads of ego. Here is a video of the 1290 prototype doing the hill climb at the Goodwood FOS this year.
As you can observe, even in the able hands of Jeremy McWilliams, an ex-MotorGP rider, the Super Duke doesn't appear to have surrendered completely. The naked superbike clearly shows its brutal character in the way it delivers its untold amounts of power.
The production version of the Super Duke 1290, the flagship model of KTM's naked series, will world premiere at the EICMA 2013 at Milan in November. We have already brought you images of the production version which carried the US special edition livery.
KTM is keeping the mechanical details of the bike close to its chest but searching for clues from its smaller siblings, the Super Duke 1290 is sure to have mind boggling performance stats.
The KTM Super Duke will lock handlebars with the Ducati Monster 1198 and the naked version of the BMW S1000RR both of which are reportedly under development.
If KTM markets the Duke 390 as a hooligan, we wonder what choice of words would be used to describe the Super Duke 1290!
