It was a massive letdown for KTM fans at the EICMA 2018 as the KTM 390 Adventure was nowhere to be found. Instead, the company unveiled the production KTM 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R.
However, a report from Overdrive claims that the KTM 390 Adventure will be showcased at the EICMA 2019. According to Hubert Trunkenpolz, Chief Sales Officer - KTM, the 390 Project is on-going and “will definitely be at EICMA 2019.” The report further claims that KTM India is on schedule to launch the 390 Adventure in 2019.
Maybe KTM will launch the bike in India and concurrently display it at the EICMA. The vice versa is a strong possibility as KTM is historically known to showcase the final model at EICMA, and then hold the product launch.
The ADV will be based on the 390 Duke platform but will feature a highly revised chassis along with a long-travel suspension. The motorcycle will receive wire-spoke wheels that will pair with Metzeler Tourance dual purpose tyres.
Features list will comprise an LCD TFT instrument console with Bluetooth Smartphone connectivity and ride-by-wire system. KTM could also offer first-in-class features like multiple riding modes and traction control on the 390 Adventure. Suspension components will comprise inverted front forks and a preload adjustable rear mono-shock.
The KTM 390 Adventure will come equipped with a vertically-stacked LED headlight with a small wind deflector. Braking will be aided by disc brakes at both the ends with standard switchable dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle will compete with the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the BMW G 310 GS. The KTM 390 Adventure is expected to around INR 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

The KTM 390 Adventure will employ the same 373.2 cc, single-cylinder motor that powers the 390 Duke. However, the engine will come with different tuning to offer improved low-end and mid-range performance. On the 390 Duke, the motor produces 43.5 bhp and 37 Nm, mated to a six-speed transmission.
