Further, Mr. Pierer said that the bike would be introduced through the CKD route hinting that the company was targeting an aggressive pricetag.
The 1190 Adventure R which is just one of four models KTM offers in the Adventure segment (the others being the newly-introduced 1050, the 1190 Adventure and 1290 Super Adventure) abroad could kick-start the Austrian brand's innings into new segments.
The motorcycle in question is powered by a V-twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 1,195 cc engine capable of 150 hp matched to a 6-speed transmission with a hydraulically operated slipper clutch. The adventure tourer is based on a Lattice frame made from chrome molybdenum steel for high rigidity, and tips the scale at 230 kg dripping wet.

Upon launch, the 1190 Adventure R would rival the Triumph Tiger 800, though it should be mentioned that the Tiger features a smaller 800 cc engine capable of 95 PS. Nevertheless with prices extending till INR 12.7 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi, for the Tiger XCx, KTM could launch a price-war with the introduction of the Adventure R.
