The Jeep Renegade would make its Brazilian debut at the Sao Paulo Motor Show.
A fully camouflaged test mule of the Jeep Renegade compact SUV was spotted doing rounds in Brazil by Novidades Automotivas reader Mr. Renato Passos.
The Renegade which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March is reported to make its first formal public appearance in Brazil at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in October. Sales in Brazil is expected to commence by March 2015.
The smallest of the Jeeps is based on the Fiat 500L's platform and is expected to offer three engine and three transmission options. The entry level variant would use a 1.6-litre E.torQ flex-fuel engine which is likely to be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Novidades Automotivas reports that the 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged engine mated either to a 6-speed or a 9-speed automatic transmission would be on offer in the mid-level variant. The top-of-the-line variant would get a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine sending power to all the four wheels via a 6-speed or a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The Jeep Renegade is estimated to be priced in the range of 65,000 reals (around INR 17.43 lakhs) to 110,000 reals (around INR 29.54 lakhs).
While the Jeep brand will debut in India next year, Fiat, according to a recent announcement, has changed its mind on offering the Renegade in the country.
