Jawa Motorcycles inaugurates first dealership in Indore

Jawa Motorcycles India has inaugurated its first dealership in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The Jawa Indore dealership is the first and only company showroom in Madhya Pradesh. Interestingly, the motorcycles are manufactured at the Pitampura facility in the state.

It is Jawa Motorcycles India's 44th showroom in the country, and the company is well on its course to reach its target of 105 dealerships. The Indore outlet is located at the following address - Mehta Automobiles Pvt Ltd,22/1, South Tukoganj, A.B Road, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Pin Code - 452001.

In typical Jawa fashion, the dealership is designed as a lifestyle store with a sit-out area for chit-chats, a section for apparels and a readout area, apart from bikes display section. Interestingly, the showroom is the only outlet in the whole of Madhya Pradesh, a state where the Jawa motorcycles are manufactured. Furthermore, the Jawa classic and the Jawa Forty-Two are priced INR 1,000 more as compared to the prices in Delhi or Mumbai.

Deliveries of the Jawa motorcycles will reportedly commence from March 2019, bookings begun in November last year. Currently, the company has only two models on sale in India, the Jawa classic (INR 1.63 lakh*) and the Jawa Forty-Two (INR 1.55 lakh*). The company also unveiled the Jawa Perak bobber, priced at INR 1.89 lakh*. The Perak is slated to go on sale later this year.

The Jawa motorcycles are sold out till September 2019 and command a waiting period of up to six months. On 21 December, the company introduced the dual-channel ABS variants of the bikes, which will be delivered from September.

Powering the Jawa motorcycles is a BS6 ready 293cc DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that pairs with a six-speed transmission. The fuel-injected motor is tuned to generate 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The Jawa Forty-Two competes with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X, while the Jawa classic rivals the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
