The Compass is the first Jeep to be manufactured and exported in India.
Jeep India has announced that the Compass will be exported to U.K, Australia and Japan from the FCA-Tata JV plant in Ranjangaon. The Compass is the first Jeep to be manufactured and exported in India.
Although the top-end Trailhawk variant will not be offered in India, it will still be produced at the local plant for export to other markets. Similarly the 2.4L Tigershark and 9-speed automatic gearbox also not offered to the India-spec car will be available in export markets. FCA India will manufacture the Compass with state of the art technology to meet Jeep's global standards.
For the Indian market, the Compass will be offered with a choice between a 1.4 FIRE MultiAir petrol engine (160+ hp) or 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel turbocharged motor with 170+ hp. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, as well as Jeep’s Active Drive AWD system with Selec Terrain Technology.

Slotting between the Renegade and Cherokee, the Compass measures 4,410 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.
