Hyundai has launched the i20 with the new 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the German market in a special Sport edition.
Launched in the 5-door hatchback bodystyle, the i20 Sport rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and a 20 mm lowered suspension. Offered exclusively in a Polar White shade, the i20 Sport gets body decals throughout, side skirts, a rear spoiler and a rear diffuser-like element with a chrome plated exhaust.
Other features that are borrowed from the standard i20 include LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, keyless entry and go and a multimedia system.
Under the hood, the i20 Sport gets the all-new turbocharged engine with a Singe scroll turbo which delivers 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels. The engine was developed at Hyundai's German technical center in Rüsselsheim, and is likely to power Hyundai's performance models under the 'N' Sport moniker too.
The i20 Sport is priced at 19,990 EUR (INR 14.33 lakhs).

Meanwhile in the Indian market, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) will revamp the variant lineup of the i20 and i20 Active. As standard, dual front airbags will be offered across the range, while projector headlights and LED daytime running lights will now be offered on the i20 Asta(O) trim.
