Sales start in early-2016.
Hyundai of Europe have released the first pictures of the Euro-spec Hyundai i20 Active, ahead of its premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show this month. Sales of the i20 Active in Europe will start in early-2016, the company said in a statement.
Similar to the i20 Active which went on sale in India in March this year, the European version gets front and rear skid plates, roof rails, side body cladding and 20 mm of extra ground clearance courtesy of a revised suspension.
Other features such as projector headlights and LED daytime running lights were already seen on the regular Euro-spec i20, but were introduced exclusively on the i20 Active for India. Inside, the i20 Active gets aluminium pedals and a touchscreen entertainment system, while the latter was included on the Indian model on a range-topping variant on August 31.
The highlight though is that the i20 Active for Europe will be powered by a 1.0-liter T-GDI three-cylinder petrol engine developing 100 PS or 120 PS. The same engine will also be introduced across the regular i20 range in Europe from the end of this year.

The i20 Active for Europe, like the regular i20, will be manufactured at Hyundai's Turkish plant.
