The Grand i10 will sell alongside the regular i10 in India. We brought you the complete lowdown yesterday from the launch, and today we have a short promotional video that shows the car in action.
The Grand i10 materializes from a different school of thought compared to its predecessor. As far as India is concerned, the Grand i10 is touted to be the logical upgrade for the existing i10 customers. The car is slightly larger, looks more upmarket, offers more equipment and comes with a completely new dashboard.
In spite of significantly differing from its predecessor, the Grand i10 has taken on an unmistakable form with typical Hyundai design nuggets such as the hexagonal secondary airdam, slot like grille and peeled-back headlamps. On the rear, the taillamps extend into the sides like bigger Hyundais, and the hatch door reminds has a whiff of the i20 to it.
The second generation hatchback offers a diesel option apart from the existing 1.2 litre Kappa2 petrol engine with 83 PS. The oil burner is a 1.1-litre three-cylinder unit which develops 71PS and 160 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine is mated either to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel motor comes only as a manual.
The price of the Hyundai Grand i10 ranges from Rs. 4,29,900 to Rs. 6,41,600 (ex-showroom Delhi).
