Hyundai India has finally revealed the Hyundai Grand i10. This is the car that has been spied testing for close to a year now on our Indian roads (the European 2014 i10 will be detailed in another post). After having referred to it by the codename, BA, we finally get to know the actual name and see how the car would look like. And this is it!
The Grand i10 gets Hyundai's new Fluidic styling and details such as the headlights remind you of the Hyundai Santa Fe. As we have mentioned before, Hyundai has given the Grand i10 a set of roof rails. At this point, Hyundai has not released any interior images of the Grand i10, so all we can see are the exteriors.
The Grand i10 will be positioned in between the regular Hyundai i10 and i20 when it goes on sale (expected very soon). Speaking about the rivals, Hyundai will be looking at the Maruti Swift and Ford Figo mainly.
Powering the Grand i10 will be a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol will be the familiar 1.2-liter Kappa2 engine that we already see on the i10 and the i20. The talking point is the 1.1-liter three cylinder diesel engine. This is a three cylinder version of the 1.4-liter CRDi on the i20. Though Hyundai has not released the specifications of this engine, we expect a power output of about 70-75bhp.
