The Hyundai Creta was launched as the company's new compact crossover in India in July last year. The South Korean automaker announced in March that it had received over 1,00,000 bookings for the Hyundai Creta in eight months since its launch in the country. Tallying up the numbers, the Hyundai Creta's domestic sales are about to cross 80,000 units soon.
Hyundai Motor India managed to sell 78,857 units of the Hyundai Creta till May 2016. In the most recent updates, the Creta range was expanded with launch of petrol automatic model and extending the availability of automatic transmission in the lower S+ grade. The Creta range includes of six equipment grades.
The Hyundai Creta is available in five different mechanical configurations that include three engines and two transmissions. The base engine is the 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine that produces 123 PS (121.26 hp) and 15.4 kgm (151.02 Nm) of torque. Moving up, there's the 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine that develops 90 PS (88.73 hp) and 22.4 kgm (219.67 Nm) of torque. Topping the engine range, is the 1.6-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine good for 128 PS (126.20 hp) and 26.5 kgm (259.88) of torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

Noteworthy features of the Hyundai Creta include projector headlamps with LED positioning lamps, R17 Diamond cut alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, engine start-stop button, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 6 airbags, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Static Bending Lights. The Hyundai Creta is priced from INR 9,15,881 (ex-showroom Delhi).
