Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially announced the commencement of bookings for the Honda X-Blade in the country. The company will price the bike, which made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, below INR 79,000 ex-showroom, Delhi.
With the new Honda X-Blade, the company is targeting millennials. Befittingly, the bike has aggressive styling and a transformer-inspired LED headlight. There’s a flyscreen to control wind blasts as well. There is a single piece seat with large grab rails on offer. The digital instrument cluster comes with a gear position indicator and a service-due indicator, apart from the regular information. The switchgear includes hazard lamp function for safety. Elaborating on the announcement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said:
Honda unveiled its 4th brand new model of 2018 – the X-Blade at Auto Expo 2018. We are indeed very excited to receive unprecedented response from Generation Z. We are happy to open the bookings for all-new Honda X-Blade today. Delighting Young Indian trendsetters with revolutionary segment first features, Honda’s ultimate head turner X-Blade will surprise Indian youth with its aggressive price of under 79,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The X-Blade deliveries will start from the middle of March on first-come-first-serve basis.
The Honda X-Blade employs a 162.71 cc single cylinder HET engine. The powerplant makes 13.93 bhp at 8,500 rpm, and 13.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 5-speed gearbox. A telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock suspend the diamond type frame.
Brakes include a 276 mm petal disc and a 130 mm drum at the rear. The bike is available in five colours: Matte Marvel Blue Metallic; Matte Frozen Silver Metallic; Pearl Spartan Red; Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic. Going by the suggested price, the bike is around INR 3,000 cheaper than the base variant of the Honda CB Hornet 160R.
