Honda Cars India will launch the Mobilio MPV on July 23 or 24, with pre-launch bookings expected to start in the coming days. The MPV will go on sale with petrol and diesel engines, most probably the same engines seen on the new Honda City.
The 1.5-liter petrol i-VTEC would produce about 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque, with gearbox options possibly including a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The 1.5-liter diesel i-DTEC has outputs of 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque and could be paired to a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox.
Apart from the regular trim levels of the Mobilio (like E, S, V etc.,), Honda will also launch the sporty Mobilio RS which gets a bodykit, HID projector headlights, rear spoiler and chrome-finished exhaust finisher.
The Mobilio will be made at Honda India's Greater Noida plant with a planned production run of 45,000 units for the first year. When launched, the Mobilio will compete with established rivals like the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova. Honda say that the Mobilio will be positioned between these cars.
Competitors: Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy
Expected Price: INR 6.5-9 lakhs ex - showroom.
