Honda 2Wheelers India’s youthful moto-scooter, the Dio, has accomplished a new milestone of crossing 30 lakh sales since its launch in 2002.

The first 15 lakh sales took 14 years while the latest 15 lakh units were sold in just three years, nearly 5 times faster. The Dio also retains the position of India’s fourth largest selling scooter.
Honda has also found success in the international market with the Dio. With 44% export market share in the scooter segment, Dio is the largest exported scooter of India. The product is exported to more than 11 South Asian & Latin American countries like Mexico, Nepal, Colombia, Sri Lanka and more.

The 109.19 cc Fan Cooled, 4 Stroke, SI engine of the Honda Dio delivers 8 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 8.91 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The motor is capable of propelling it to a claimed top speed of 85 km/h. The scooter is only available in drum brake variant.
The feature list includes bold styling, apron mounted LED headlamp, LED DRLs and fully digital meter with service due indicator. The scooter is available in nine colours under two variants – Standard and Deluxe.

Prices of the Honda Dio start at INR 52,938 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter competes with the likes of Yamaha Ray ZR and Hero Maestro Edge.
