Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) launched the Brio hatchback and Brio Amaze sedan at the CAMPI 2014 (Philippines International Motor Show 2014) today. The cars will form the entry-level offerings in the Japanese car maker's portfolio, which until now started with the City and Jazz.
Both cars are powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine which produces 100 PS (98.63 bhp) of power and 127 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Features on the Brio and Brio Amaze include foglights, alloy wheels, a touchscreen music system, steering mounted audio controls, driver seat height adjustment, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, ABS, EBD and dual front airbags.
The Brio and Brio Amaze for Philippines is imported from Honda's Thai plant as fully built units. The hatchback competes with the likes of the Hyundai i10 and Mitsubishi Mirage. The Brio is positioned in the E-Category (Economy) in Philippines, which is the fastest growing segment in the country.
