Went on sale in Indonesia (its first market) last week.
According to a report on Manila Times, the Honda BR-V could be introduced in the Philippines in late-2016, to fill a potential gap between the Mobilio MPV and the HR-V compact SUV.
The BR-V, which was revealed in August this year at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIMS), was launched in Indonesia last week at prices ranging from IDR 226,500,000 (INR 10.93 lakhs) to IDR 261,500,000 (INR 12.63 lakhs). It is offered in four variants: S MT, E MT, E CVT and E Prestige CVT.
For the Indonesian market, the BR-V is powered by the 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine that is capable of producing 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The transmission options include a new 6-speed manual and a CVT unit. Earlier in the month, Honda announced that it will also introduce the BR-V for Thailand next year, though the engine will be modified to run on E85. The BR-V made its Thai premiere at the Thailand International Motor Expo which started on December 1, 2015.
